Shamrock Technologies is a leading Specialty Additives producer and supplier to the markets enabling growth in the Automotive, Aerospace, Healthcare, and Industrial sectors of the economy. The site in Tongeren is the European HQ and production site.

Shamrock is American in origin. The states of New Jersey and Kentucky are home to the largest development and production centers.

The Belgian branch, with about 40 employees, is a vibrant and internationally oriented organization. Goods are shipped or produced from Tongeren to customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Our customers are mostly multinationals that are active in the chemical sector in a technically innovative way in surface treatment (Inks, Paints and Coatings) or plastic compounding.

We are looking for a

Technical Sales Specialist

Region: Germany & Developing Markets

What do we expect from you?

You actively address potential new business, new customers and new applications.

This means:

  • You know how to convert opportunities in actual business.
  • You gather information directly through customers/suspects/prospects and indirectly by attending trade shows/exhibitions/industry events.
  • You aim to become a key player in the organization to highlight market evolutions and understand and react to emerging new markets or applications.
  • You are dedicated to finetune Shamrock’s products and developments to the constantly changing business reality.

Who are you?

  • You have a bachelor or master’s degree/ have at between 5 to 10 years’ experience in technical sales in the special additives industry (waxes, biocides, binders, defoamers, rheology modifiers, dispersions, emulsions, wax alloys, wax emulsions, oleo-chemical products).
  • You are experienced with and understanding coating/plastic formulations and the role of additives.
  • You have knowledge and experience in one of client’s key markets, coatings, inks or engineering plastics.
  • You have a good insight in market dynamics, customers and competitors.
  • You are positive, proactive, goal-oriented, comfortable to work independently and as a team player in an international team.
  • You are fluent in German and English, Dutch/French will be a plus.
  • You are eligible to work in Europe, preferable in Germany.
